Job Summary: Provides academic instruction and student academic support for the Math & Computer Science department. Performs tasks designed to ensure the quality and consistency of academic instruction including governance activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

A master’s degree in Computer Science, or a master’s degree in a related field with at least 20 credits in Computer Science, including coursework in algorithms, data structures, and software design/engineering.

Willingness to teach day, evening, weekend, and on or off-campus classes.

Hiring Range: No less than $65,000

Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching experience in a higher education setting.

  • Participates in curriculum development and maintenance. - (Essential)
  • Provides academic support and advising to students including establishing and maintaining a schedule of office hours. - (Essential)
  • Participates in college governance by serving on joint, ad hoc, faculty, campus, division and discipline committees. - (Essential)
  • Participates in the recruitment and hiring of new faculty through participation on assigned search committees. - (Essential)
  • Participates in college and community service activities - (Essential)
  • Participates in professional growth activities and maintains awareness of new trends and developments within areas of instructional responsibility - (Essential)
  • Coordinate, plan, organize, and instruct academic courses according to approved course syllabus. - (Essential)
  • Provide high quality and consistent academic instruction to students. - (Essential)
  • Provided high quality academic support and advising to students. - (Essential)
  • Keep students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance requirements. - (Essential)
  • Keep students informed about their progress through prompt grading of papers and other work. - (Essential)
  • Maintain accurate and complete scholastic records, including attendance records. - (Essential)
  • Maintain scheduled office hours. - (Essential)
  • Ensure that assigned classes are held as scheduled. - (Essential)
  • Organize and maintain class work and assignments. - (Essential)
  • Strive for the qualities delineated in the criteria for faculty evaluation used by the college - (Essential)
  • Be thoroughly familiar and comply with all college policies and procedures. - (Essential)
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing - (Essential)
