The Houseperson stocks linen rooms, responds to guest requests, maintains cleanliness in hotel common areas, completes room cleaning projects, and provides excellent internal and external customer service.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Stock linen rooms with required supplies and deliver extra linens and supplies to guest rooms upon request.
• Collect and dispose of garbage from service areas according to procedure.
• Clean guest floor corridors, linen rooms, service areas, vending areas, elevators, foyers, and furniture according to housekeeping policy.
• Assist with heavy work, including moving furniture, turning mattresses, and handling drapes.
• Clean and spot-clean carpets in assigned areas as directed by the Executive Housekeeper.
• Deliver special-request items, such as cots and cribs, to guest rooms and return them to storage after use.
• Report maintenance defects and faulty equipment to the Housekeeping office for repair.
• Perform custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and other duties as required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Able to stand for up to 8 hours per day and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to use a radio effectively.
• Previous cleaning experience is an asset.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
• This full-time position requires flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
