Scope of Position
WinSport Summer Camps is seeking an energetic and passionate individual for the position of Inclusion Facilitator. If you have a genuine interest in working with youth, providing enriching supportive experiences, and promoting a commitment to inclusivity we invite you to apply.
As an Inclusion Facilitator for our Summer Camps, your primary role is to provide mentorship, skill-building, and facilitate inclusion for youth across a diverse portfolio of sport programming. Within this role you will utilize leadership skills to supervise and assist participants who require additional support in a program setting. Above all else you should ensure participants have fun spending time outdoors moving.

Responsibilities
Program Execution
- Adhere to program policies and procedures, manage, and escalate through the correct channels if required.
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and exceptional experience of participants.
- Plan, lead, and modify programs daily, operating independently as a group leader and collaboratively with others to make necessary accommodations for youth requiring support..
Safety
- Monitor participant behavior and work collaboratively with participants providing strategies to minimize conflict and mitigate safety concerns.
- Conduct daily equipment and facility safety assessments ensuring it meets the required standards and are suitable for use.
- Provide on-going safety education to team members with techniques they can implement in response programming incidents.
Communication
- Connect with families regarding any camp adaptations required to facilitate a successful experience
- Coordinate strategies working collaboratively with campers, their families, camper instructors and leadership for adaptive camp engagements
- Communicate in ways that empower participants and team members when providing feedback, motivating others, and goal setting.
- Communicate professionally with parents/guardians and caregivers.
- Vary communications styles to best fit the audience.
- Other Duties as Required
Qualifications
- Available to attend Team Member training (Sunday June 22, 2025 – Thursday June 26, 2025)
- Must be available Monday-Friday for 7 out of 10 weeks during the operational calendar from July 2 to August 29. Specifically, successful candidates must be available the weeks of July 7-11 and July 14-18.
- Availability for scheduled shifts between 07:30am – 05:00pm Monday – Friday.
- Current criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
- Understanding of understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles.
- Current First Aid and Standard CPR required.
- Ability to create a welcoming and supportive space for participants.
- Willingness to adapt content and communication style to different needs.
- Problem-solving mindset when addressing challenges
- Education in child and youth development, recreation, education, community development, or related field of study is required.
- Experience coaching or instructing is considered an asset.
- Experience working with people with disabilities and minority groups is considered an asset.
Physical Demands
- Able to run, walk, ride and jump for long periods of time.
- Able to work outside for long periods of time in various weather conditions.
- Required to work in-person.
- Frequently expected to lift, carry, throw, push, or pull objects (sporting equipment).
