JOB SUMMARY:The Centre for Lung Health (CLH) at the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI) is a research-driven, multidisciplinary centre that brings together internationally recognized leaders in respiratory research, clinical care and education including the Legacy for Airway Health (LAH) and other affiliated programs. The CLH integrates expertise across disciplines to accelerate discovery, improve clinical practice and enhance respiratory health through research, education, innovation and community partnerships. Guided by the principle that Research is Care and Care is Research, CLH's vision is to be the world leader in research and its application to prevention of and care for lung disease at the individual, community and population levels. By embedding research within clinical care through an integrated approach, CLH creates an environment in which new knowledge continuously improves practice while clinical and public health experience informs future discovery, improving outcomes.Reporting to the Director, Centre for Lung Health (CLH), the Program Manager, Partnerships, Strategy, and Operations is a key role in supporting the strategic leadership and operationalizing of the CLH’s mission, growth, and long-term sustainability. The Manager is responsible for advancing program development, funding and partnership opportunities, financial stewardship, governance, and operational excellence in alignment with CLH’s strategic priorities and vision. The Program Manager supports and provides leadership across all aspects of operations and works collaboratively with clinicians, researchers, administrators, and external partners to integrate organizational strengths with external strategic opportunities. The Manager demonstrates leadership in strategic planning, program development, financial management, human resources, and operations oversight. This work is framed within VCH’s commitments to Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Planetary Health.QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s degree in Business Administration, Project/Quality Management or related discipline, supplemented with seven (7) years’ recent related experience in a progressively responsible administrative and/or financial management roles, preferably in a research environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.ROLE SPECIFIC EXPERTISEDemonstrated experience in the development of high-value funding proposals in collaboration with internal and external partners for institutional support. Sound business acumen to manage the fiscal resources for a designated portfolio in a financially responsible manner and consistent with the overall goals of the organization.Proven record in leading, mentoring and coaching teams and working effectively with staff.Demonstrated ability to independently and I a team-based environment. Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services while sensitive to diversity and indigenous lens.Comprehensive knowledge of research and administrative processes in an academic and health authority environments.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with a varied audience including senior administrators, faculty, students staff and members of the external community.
