We're looking for an experienced Sous Chef who is passionate about culinary excellence, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is excited to help shape one of Banff's most exciting dining destinations.
As Sous Chef, you'll be a key leader in our kitchen and an important mentor for the culinary team. Working closely with the Executive Chef, you'll help deliver consistently exceptional food while fostering a positive and professional kitchen culture.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting daily kitchen operations and service execution
• Leading, coaching, and developing cooks and kitchen team members
• Maintaining food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
• Assisting with ordering, inventory control, and cost management
• Ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are upheld
• Participating in menu development, feature creation, and seasonal offerings
• Assisting with scheduling, training, and performance management
• Leading the kitchen in the Chef's absence
What We're Looking For
• Previous Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or strong Chef de Partie experience
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team
• Strong organizational and communication abilities
• A passion for contemporary Canadian cuisine and hospitality
• Knowledge of food costing, inventory, and kitchen operations
• Food Safety certification
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
