Partnering with the District Manager, the Operations Manager seeks to achieve sales profitability targets in a group of assigned stores by supporting centrally developed merchandising programs thru established processes and standards with a clear focus ensuring customer satisfaction standards are met or exceeded. The Operations manager will focus on national standard implementation of all programs and processes and will work closely with defined stakeholders to foster an environment of continuous improvement and best practice sharing with a focus on improving customer experience.
What you'll do :
Provide assistance to stores in the execution of merchandising and operational standards, and in dealing with specific issues such as ensuring sufficient inventory and labour necessary for effective operations, troubleshooting problems, etc.
Contribute to and support implementation programs designed to increase colleague capability across the region and provide coaching to improve performance of underperforming stores
Ensure department adherence to company policies/procedures and consistent execution of format process and strategy. Determine how variances from policy or strategy should be addressed.
Work closely with all stakeholders to foster an environment of continuous improvement and best practice sharing with a focus on improving customer experience thru action planning and follow up on prior feedback/action plans.
Provide stakeholders with post mortems from events, seasonal programs and BU initiatives to ensure key learning is captured and improvements are made for future initiatives.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME); provide expertise developing key programs, training materials & execution guides.
Expert in customer service, OVP and cash office balancing
Participate in District Manager/Department Manager calls to provide progress on current and upcoming programs, events and opportunities.
Conduct store visits and analyze department performance, develop action plans to address any gaps in performance or procedure.
Partner with District Managers, Store Managers and Assistant Store Managers on improving the performance of the store
What you bring :
Prior operations P&L experience
3-5 years of experience coaching, developing and managing in retail operations
Excellent problem solving, communication, organizational, facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Must be able to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize
Strong change management skills
Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments and decisions
Ability to adapt positively to a changing environment and shifting priorities
Strong team player with self-discipline and motivation to work independently
Willingness to travel
Other activities as deemed necessary
