Summary

The Manicurist Technician Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality classroom and hands-on instruction in manicuring theory, techniques, safety, sanitation, and professional practices. The instructor prepares students for entry-level employment in the manicuring industry and for the North Carolina State Board licensure examination.

The instructor will follow the approved curriculum and ensure all instruction and student activities comply with college policies, program standards, and the requirements of the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners. The position requires effective teaching, student evaluation, advising, accurate record keeping, and the ability to maintain a safe, professional, and inclusive learning environment.

Examples of duties

Provide engaging classroom and hands-on instruction in manicuring theory and practical skills in accordance with the approved curriculum.


Prepare students for entry-level careers in the manicuring and beauty industry and for the North Carolina State Board licensure requirements.


Demonstrate and teach proper manicuring techniques, sanitation and infection-control procedures, safety practices, professional standards, and client-care practices.


Plan and organize instructional activities, demonstrations, laboratory experiences, and practical exercises that support student learning and skill development.


Evaluate student knowledge, technical skills, practical performance, and overall progress using established program and college standards.


Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance, completed competencies, grades
